Memorial for Eileen Peterson, noted for her community service in the planned town of Greenbelt, Md.
This blog community is for memories of Eileen Peterson (1937-2008), as well as samples of her writing.

Eileen Peterson (née Eileen Jean Lester) was best known for her community service, which resulted in the rescue and founding of a number of cultural institutions in the New Deal planned community of Greenbelt, Maryland, in Prince George's County. You can read a few facts about her life here.

Since she supported many Greenbelt arts organizations (public library, movie theater, performing arts venues, visual arts education, craftsfolk, newspaper, etc.), her life helps to reveal the recent cultural history of Greenbelt.

This community is maintained by her family.
